An airline that has nothing to envy to a classic airline, even if they charge for checked luggage and on-board drinks (it’s still a low-cost airline, with a 10-15 AED sandwich, for instance, as well as in-flight duty-free shopping, credit card accepted from 50 AED…).
The ground and cabin crews were very welcoming and kind, rather comfortable seats with enough legroom (we were better accommodated than with Air France!). They have a fleet comprised only of 189-seats Boeing 737-800 airplanes. Some even have screens on the seats, as in the long-range airplanes of classic airlines…. But you have to use your own headphones (any headphone or handsfree earpiece will work) or buy on on-board (not very cheap).
Observance to the scheduled times for both outward and inward flights: PERFECT.
Ticket prices are naturally very affordable, about 100 € for a Dubai-Mascate roundtrip, 130 for a roundtrip to Doha in semi-flex…. And they have three pricing levels: flexible, with a no-charge ticket exchange or reimbursement and right to a checked bag of less than 20 kg; semi-flex, with a charged exchange or reimbursement and an extra fee to check a bag (20 €); and non-flex, which is neither exchangeable nor reimbursable and with a fee for checked luggage.
The departure/arrival takes place at Dubai’s terminal 2, accessible by car or taxi only, but having the advantage of being less crowded than T1 and T3. Check-in, customs, and security check were very quick: on the way back, it took me less than 15 minutes to leave the airport, including customs inspection. With Emirates, on the other hand, arriving at T3, it took me about one hour….
It’s important to note that Flydubai serves three airports in Europe: Belgrade in Serbia, Bucharest in Romania, and Skopje in Macedonia. When will they serve France?
In short, no complaints. 5/5
