The flight was scheduled to take place November 11, take-off at 2:05 pm.
We reported that day to check in at noon, actually checked in at 1:10 pm (assigned seats: 22E and 22F), 1 checked bag. Boarding was to begin at 1:35 pm.
We didn't get any information from the employee at the boarding gate until 2:30 pm, the moment the information screen announced that takeoff was scheduled for 3:15 PM ...
Another Vueling employee finally showed up at 2:30 pm with a list ( !!! ) and made an announcement informing us that a party of passengers, including us, would not be taking the flight (in order to make the plane lighter, officially to facilitate take-off, because the area was windy at that time). About twenty people were denied boarding.
How is it that the other airlines (as we could easily see because their counters were next to yours) could take off without having to deny passengers boarding?
Furthermore, this hostess told us that we'd be switched to a flight the next day.
However, one of the passengers had already been switched to this flight (on Monday) from Sunday and was also on the list of those excluded from the flight on Monday! Two days lost! How were we to believe with certainty one second later that we would be able to take the flight on Tuesday the 12th, because due to the extended weekend of November 11 all flights to France were full?
Our boarding passes were taken by the boarding counter employee who told us that we could reclaim our baggage and would have information on the Vueling countertop about alternative solutions and reimbursement procedures.
That was information that we never got! After 1 hour of waiting at the counter, an employee finally referred us to the website for any claims and told us that there is ultimately no flight before Wednesday, November 13! Again unnecessary waiting!
After receiving this new piece of information, trains were also full! So we had to do the 1200 kilometres of our trip back by renting a car, giving us unacceptable conditions of fatigue.
We will never take a flight with this airline again! (This was our first and last experience with them!)
