A nice airline

Hello,

I flew with United on 10/27 from Newark (EWR) to Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
There was a 7-hour delay due to a storm that had hit Paris. We had not been informed, but we checked the airline’s website before leaving (don’t forget, it’s important to check your flight!). If the delay is of a meteorological nature, no voucher is given for you to buy something to eat at the airport.
Automatic check-in (with terminals), but still very practical. There’s an agent available in case there’s a problem. I recommend that you check in online first, because that will make check-in even faster (15 minutes).

On board:
A somewhat old 757-200 Boeing that had not been very well adapted for transatlantic flights, but there were personal screens with a VOD entertainment system. Three fourths of the films were in French, but there is a wide selection of new and not-so-new movies.
Flight information available throughout the flight.
Comfortable, reclinable seat, but rather old – some renovations would be welcome! Enough legroom. Nice cabin crew, with a very good in-flight service (nice meal, hot or cold drinks). The temperature inside the plane was comfortable – not too warm, not too cold. Landing really hurt the years (and not only mine). Bags arrived right after landing.
The plane clearly belonged to Continental, before the merge.
I recommend this airline, despite the delay, which was really not their fault.

Évitez à tout prix cette compagnie ! Billet à prix presque d'or ( plus de 1000€ aller retour CDG -Newark par personne pris 3 mois d'avance!) et 2 des 3 passagers toujours en rade à New York pour cause de surbooking ! Politique manifestement habituelle de cette compagnie. Alors que nous étions 2h30 avant l'embarquement à l'aéroport ! Aucune attribution de sièges et pour cause ! Un employé de la compagnie ( M Ad***se ?) particulièrement désagréable ne nous donnant 10mn avant l'embarquement aucune explication sur le fait que 2 membres de notre famille sur 3 ne pouvaient embarquer malgré nos impératifs professionnels ! Nous informant seulement que la loi américaine autorise cette pratique. Personnel lent et incompétent à l'enregistrement quand le check-in en ligne n'est pas possible ! (On se demande aussi pour quelle raison 1 passager sur les 3 ! ).

Déjà des problèmes à l'aller ( attribution des sièges aléatoire au dernier moment sans regroupement possible !) et voyage dans un petit et vieil avion 757! Sans oublier 2 atterrissages particulièrement violent! Jamais je ne voyagerai sur cette compagnie low cost sauf pour les prix!
