Booked trip to Varadero, Cuba for Dec 9th, 2019 return Dec 16th, 2019
Wheelchair request as cannot walk distance, causes extreme pain due to rare disease. Pearson Airport, polite, pushed me up to security no wheelchair on other side of metal detector waiting when finished.
On a Boeing 737-800 I am 5ft 4”, average weight and had to sit sideways the whole flight as no room, seats so small, which aggravated disability, increasing pain.
Had agent change seats for extra leg room, cost $100 on return flight
Arrived at Varadero Airport, no wheelchair, seats refused, reason emergency exit and you are disabled, asked why Air T booked them
Called Air Transat when I arrived home for refund of $100, before I could give my name, info was told no refund agent booked seats should have known that you could not have seats near emergency exit, so it is their mistake go to them. I said have not given alI info. Air Transat rep said she knows everything about me. My answer to that, “if you knew everything, then when it was a seat change, not new seats, you would have seen wheelchair and should not have booked” or take my money. Air T rep went silent, would not speak
I hung up, called my agent
Never ever willI fly Air Transat again due to rudeness, unprofessionalism, refusal to resolve situations, incl. many at destination, trying to get hand soap, towels for three days.
