Flight scheduled for 10 :10. Takeoff was one and a half hours late! The following 105 flight, scheduled for 11:15, boarded at the same time! To top it all, we disembarked on the tarmac and it was a mess for all the passengers of the B747-400 to get on a bus (the plane’s economy class was full) that took us on a free tour of the airport, making the delay even worse!
It’s the worst flight I've ever had with Thai Airways in eleven years. I pity the passengers who paid for a business ticket and those who had to run to catch their second connecting flight. This was a lot closer to a low-end charter service than a regular flight!
On the other hand, the high season price is not charter-like, but rather high! A low-cost Air Asia flight took off on time at 9:30!
A friend flew these days with Bangkok Airways. His flight had a significant two-hour delay, but they gave each passenger 300 Baht to buy something to drink, a gesture that was appreciated.
In short, my flight was a flight to forget! No doubt my last on a B747, because they are progressively being retired…. There are only other three that are still in service.
Otherwise, the plane was clean and small, but we can’t ask for more for a 50-minute flight.
