Nice but uncomfortable flight

Review of Maxunet about the flight Jetairfly between Brussels and Mombasa on 03/03/2013 in Economy plus

Note: This review is about an experience that happened more than 3 years ago.

Destination Kenya (Ukunda Coast), its extensive plains, its animals, and its sun!

Flight from JAF to Mombasa with stopover in Zanzibar on the outgoing trip.

We booked our trip in "comfort"...Dedicated check-in, FastLane in Brussels (Don't count on that for the return trip at the Mombasa airport, 40 degrees, and you have to wait in one line for all airlines combined for at least 3 hours...)

Boarding was fast aboard the "Crystal," one of Jetair's 767 planes, leather seats which were certainly a little uncomfortable for 12 hours, and the plane's cabin was a little old-fashioned. However, nice service, blankets, a pillow, a welcome drink, just enough leg room (but I'm not a very big person), a meal on the outgoing trip was very sufficient... (a little less on the return trip, as the meats had clearly gotten some sun on the Mombasa tarmac...)

Stopover in Zanzibar was much longer than expected...we were told 40 minutes...final wait was 3 hours and 10 minutes, on the tarmac in 40 degrees, with the aircraft door open...Most of the crew in the plane (crew change), only a Kenyan guard with a submachine gun (not really reassuring) to prevent any passengers waiting on the plane from getting out of it.

Just one thing that was particularly unpleasant: finding our baggage open on the baggage carousel at the airport... Therefore, a piece of advice: don't forget to close your baggage as much as possible. :-)

Bonsoir Maxime.
