Already be aware that SAS has "economy" and "economy +" classes.
Other airlines also have this, with a real difference in service.
SAS economy+ is equivalent to Skyteam’s economy (Air France-like) and their economy is just filled with little details that do not cost them less, but are enough to annoy their clients.
For instance, in economy you have a single screen with a list of films. These movies all start simultaneously at specific time that you don’t know and you can’t pause them or go back to the beginning. At economy+, you can pause and start movies whenever you want.... This does not cost them extra, because they know how to do it—so, it’s just mean.
They give you no options for your meal. There’s no "chicken or pork" in economy class. No, it’s pork, period. In economy+, however, you can choose between two options.
Coffee and tea are served nonstop—so often that, in economy, trays are picked up one hour after the beginning of the meal. In economy+, they pick up the trays as you would expect.
In addition to this, you better choose your seats before departure, because they can either change them at the check-in counter or make you wait by the boarding gate to assign you your seats. It’s like this that we saw couples being separated, or phobic people who had reserved a seat by the window and ended up in the middle of a four-people row.
On the outward flight, the flight attendants were very friendly and accommodating, but this wasn't the case on the way back.
In short, if you get a very low price, ok, but know what to expect. Low-quality service for a transatlantic.
