Family trip with two children aged 4 and 2.
We did a Paris-Miami roundtrip with XL Airways for the holidays.
The outward flight was on Sunday, 07/06/2014: no complaints / everything went well. The flights were on schedule, and the cabin service was good. We were seated from row 42, where the aisle is wider.
The return flight was on Friday, 07/25/2014. There was a 5-hour delay when departing from Miami. (Bad point: the reason was never disclosed to us and their apologies rang false. The delay was supposedly because on a previous flight the plane had to make a stop to disembark a sick passenger in Montreal.)
However, we were warned 10 hours before departure, which gave us time to adapt our plans.
After takeoff, the flight back was much like the outward flight, even though the cabin crew was not as nice.
To conclude, despite the unpleasant surprise of the delay on the return flight, we are satisfied with XL's service.
The benefits are worth the price paid and XL saved us several hundred euros compared to other companies.
