Flight attendants unhappy?

Note: This review is about an experience that happened more than 3 years ago.

I am a frequent traveller between Europe and California, double Gold status with two Star Alliance programs, as well as One World.

I really like the AIR NZ LAX-LHR-LAX flights, especially the Business and probably the best premium economy product on the market anywhere in the world, and Y with the SkyCouches is also not bad at all either.

But on my last two flights in March, on two out of the three flights (1 Premium Economy and 1 Economy), I got a very unpleasant attitude from the flight attendants (1 male in Premium Economy and 1 female).

Rude, no smile, no style, no pride. Flying can still be magic, even for those of us who have to travel intercontinental several times a month and the difference in attitudes is felt.

One particular attendant on the last flight was rude even physically, pushing me aside, almost shouting and going under my blanket while sleeping to see if my seat belt is really buckled (of course it was...), and being simply grumpy.

I was traveling with my 10 year old son, who of course noticed the attitude and was gracious about it, he shrugged and looked at me....

But I was not very happy and that is why I write this at 1am while I should be probably sleeping...Lets leave aside that in Economy the glasses are plastic and the service is what it is, since we have to pay to play for service these days.

But some basics should be there. Now I know we all can have a bad day, but this is simply not excusable for the "Middle Earth" airline.

These Kiwis need a Gandalf to check on the Orks and Grumps from time to time. Otherwise it will all go down, not much in style...I am flying back in two weeks, will report. Meanwhile, AIR NZ staff should go and fly ANA and JAL to get their mojo back and see how it can be done.
