Better than the last time but still a bad airline

So, I've already published a review of a previous flight on Spirit (Boston-Dallas). A week later I had to take them again to go to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
I went through the check-in counter and the security checks without problems except that when I arrived at the departure gate the plane was delayed. This was twice in a row, since the Boston-Dallas flight was also delayed.
There was no information about the flight delay. The departure screen still said that the flight as on time.
When the plane finally arrived, boarding was quick.
However, I noticed a change from the previous flight: the plane was new, but the seats were very uncomfortable, and there was still minimal legroom. OK, the flight crew was basically nonexistent and there was no snack, free beverage.
Otherwise the flight arrived safely at Ft. Lauderdale.
I do not recommend this airline. The next time that I have to buy tickets, I'll buy a more expensive ticket and from a good airline.

A painful return flight

Hello, my name is G****nd Gontrand, an experienced traveler for both business and for fun. I've flown on almost 40 airline companies but this was my first time on Spirit.

I was taking a business trip to Washington, and since we had to pay for the tickets ourselves, I decided to take Spirit to save money. My other colleagues were all on United.

Here are the notable parts of my experience:

- A flight crew who screamed at the passengers to buckle their seatbelts.
- Zero comfort: no legroom.
- No meal served.
- OK takeoff despite the weather.
- The landing was a complete mess, one of the worst I've been through.
- It was very cold on board, but since I like it that way this was a positive point.
- Chaotic boarding, there were passengers who were late and a technical problem delayed us for almost an hour.

In short, a horrible experience with Spirit!

One to avoid!

Well, I've just taken a flight from Boston to Dallas with Spirit and I can tell you that I was very disappointed even though I had no expectations.
It all began at check-in, where we were treated like cattle.

It was a four-hour flight, with the plane already delayed by the time it departed.
Another reason I didn't like the airline was the very small seats! I'm 6 ft 3 in and had to endure a four-hour flight in an uncomfortable position.

There was nothing to drink for the four hours of the flight! And the plane was also very old and the interior not in good condition.

So that's why I'm not recommending this airline to you, though I'll be catching another flight next week from Dallas to Fort Lauderdale anyhow.

Baggage policy = rip off

OK, this is a low cost airline, with all the advantages/disadvantages that entails (e.g. the meal has to be paid for).

The negative point here concerns their baggage policy. A cabin bag measuring what a cabin bag does has to be paid for: $50 for the cabin, $45 for it to go in the hold (that's good, a $5 reduction) and if you're unfortunate enough to get there without having checked in your baggage, you will pay the modest sum of $100.

So, therefore:
- Read the small print carefully and pay attention to the authorised baggage sizes, which are absolutely not standard.
- Use a canvas bag so that it will fit through the baggage gauge.

Otherwise, watch out for the cost.

Not fun

It was a short flight, and I slept a bit. I was in 'business class,' and that was a nice surprise, since I had booked the least expensive flight. As a result, I had more leg room, which was nice. However, even water and soda cost money, and they really nickel and dime you.
