A big joke
This airline should really close up shop.
Despite our habit of flying with airlines that are a lot more serious and renowned, we were forced to choose this airline because it was the only one that had a flight a flight at 8 PM on Thursday.
The flight was announced with a one-hour delay. This was not due to a case of force majeure or some insurmountable cause, but simply because it landed “too late” at CDG and Air Méditerranée is incapable of correctly calculating the time necessary for taxiing, disembarking, and boarding of its planes that work on a just-in-time basis.
The first bad surprise: take-off at 9:30 PM, meaning that we would arrive in Lisbon already one hour late.
The second bad surprise, and not a small one: after take-off, the crew announced a time of flight for the Paris-Toulouse and Toulouse-Lisbon segments. We have thus learned that we would have a stopover at Toulouse, which had not been previously announced! In the same way, the crew was completely unable to announce at what time we would arrive in Lisbon. Panic in the plane! Many people had booked cars that they would not be able to get because the rental agencies would already be closed! As for us, our hotel was not open 24/7 so we were really afraid for our reservations!
And, yes, since we were already flying, there was no way for these people and for us to contact the different services to let them know of our delay!
The stopover was said to be due to a “technical problem,” but it was actually made only to refuel the plane, which is not a technical problem, but one caused by poor management by Air Méditerranée! We can very well image that their Toulouse hub has a smaller per-minute cost than that of CDG! Unthinkable!
While the plane was being fueled, there was yet another blow: not only were the passengers not disembarked from the plane, but the front door was opened and the passengers were all left standing in the aisle without any warning from the crew (very practical in case there’s a fire and everyone has to evacuate the plane!). In addition to that, many people were smoking by the front door of the plane, including crewmembers… We thought we were dreaming.
And, of course, no meal was kindly offered, no excuse was given, no compensation was offered by the airline.
We finally arrived over two hours late, with a risk of losing our reservations and having been given no explanations by the airline.
Never again! Don’t ever try them! It’s clear that this airline only survives because it is mostly used by people who have obviously no experience with travelling by plane!
