After a stay in Makassar, it was time to fly to Bali. I booked the flight two days before departure and the ticket cost €40, and that's with a 20 kg suitcase!
It was an early evening flight and the plane was 60% full, maximum. Unlike us, most of the passengers were seated towards the front.
There were views over Makassar and its port when we took off, and we were able to see the sunset when we were right out over the sea.
There was no food service, with Lion Air being a low-cost airline, but the flight went well and was on time. The cabin crew were very friendly and welcoming. Couple of problems: Indonesians aren't aware of the concept of waiting your turn, and the pilots handled the plane pretty aggressively at take-off and landing!
A good flight overall, considering the price!
