"Abandoned" in Bahrain with my children
I regularly use the airline Gulf Air.
When it's problem free, it's very good value for money. On the other hand, when a problem does occur, the airline's responds is very bad.
After a delay of 1 hour 15 minutes on a Gulf Air flight from Abu Dhabi to Bahrain, I ended up, with my children, "missing" my 1:30 am flight to Paris at the stopover in Bahrain.
Gulf Air didn't take the situation in hand at all: the transfer desk was inundated; no explanations were offered; there were no apologies, and there was no compensation. We were treated horribly by the staff, and passports were confiscated (if we didn't accept it, we wouldn't have got any new boarding passes). After several hours spent waiting on the carpet (no seats at the transfer desk!), we received boarding passes for a Qatar Airways flight to Paris, via Doha, leaving a 5:00 am.
We arrived in Paris 10 hours late and at a different terminal than planned.
I've submitted a complaint to Gulf Air. To date, I haven't heard anything back.
