I This airline is the worst I've ever used. I was due to fly to Reykjavik on Wed 29th Nov at 12.15 pm from Manchester.
I am disabled and require special assistance. I was checked in, luggage taken and boarding pass issued. I was then taken through security where my passport was checked once again. After being wheeled to the boarding gate the female there found my passport to be out of date by two months !! My friend was rushed onto the aircraft and there was no time to exchange our tour trips and train tickets.
I was left at the boarding gate for over an hour while they got my suitcase back off the plane. There was no compassion offered to me. Just questions such as what colour of hair did the check in person have ? What colour is your suitcase ? When they finally got my suitcase off the aircraft they were able to locate check in details from the luggage label. I was then taken to the railway station. I had an awful journey home trying to manage and was really upset. The ticket guy wanted to charge me over a hundred pounds to get home. I had to ask for a supervisor who was sympathetic towards me and let me use the ticket I had.The whole thing was a nightmare and I blame Icelandair airline for allowing me through check in and security which caused me lots of distress. I'm at fault for not checking my passport but thats not the issue here. The issue is being allowed to check in and get as far as The boarding gate. I've still not had an apology from this airline. All the can do is blame me. Will avoid them like the plague in future !!!
