Being regulars on the Paris/Malé route, we decided to go with Ethiad this time.
What a bad idea!
Check-in was very long despite the fact that the only thing we had to do was check our bags.
As for the flight, we noticed the reclining seats, which can be important, but there was no support for the feet on the A340! So there was no benefit from the reclination.
The meals were good and the crew was nice!
As for the on-board films, there was not much choice, since only a few were available in French!
After that, things got seriously more complicated! The connection at Abu Dhabi is awful! The current airport is not able to absorb the current number of passengers! A line of over 600 meters just to go through the security gates (a one-and-a-half-hour wait…).
And, lastly, we got to experience a technical failure (which seem to happen very often) on the flight that left at 2:20 AM from Abu Dhabi to arrive at 7:00 AM at Roissy!
This time there was a seven-hour delay. They gave us a food voucher, we had to cry to get a blanket, and they put you in a very cold boarding area!
We arrived at Roissy at 2:00 PM. We changed our tickets with the extra costs, which we communicated to Ethiad’s customer service, but still haven’t received any answer, despite four attempts to contact them.
And they seem quite serious when they give you the paper with all the information on the delay and the services you have to contact!
Stupefying behavior by an airline that wants to compete with Emirates, Qatar, and even Oman Air, who which we will remain loyal.
