Terror at 20,000 feet

Review of Ls31 about the flight Ethiopian Airlines between Kigali and Bujumbura on 03/04/2015 in Economy
Note: This review is about an experience that happened more than 3 years ago.

After a 45-minute layover, 5 people boarded in Kigali. The plane was very empty, not even 20% full, and was that was en route to BJM.

Pushback was at 1:48 pm for this 20-minute flight covering the 20,000 feet between the two cities.

There was a light rain on the ground. The roll-out was done quickly because the pilot was trying to get ahead of the weather.

Considering the distance covered and the length of the flight, there wasn't any need for service or even turning off the fasten seatbelt sign. We quickly climbed to 20,000 feet due to the hills and mountains in the area, and once there, the twenty-minute flight turned into terror in the sky. There was very strong turbulence throughout the entire flight, and from the inside we could barely see the plane's wings or winglets.

As they say however, turbulence has never caused a plane crash. The descent was also chaotic but the landing was rather smooth.

On the other hand, parking the plane was a crazy scene. I've never seen so many people (6) trying to get a plane into its parking space. We almost collided with the wings of the 747 right next to us. That's just one small anecdote about this short flight.
