We booked Norwegian Air back in February to fly from LAX to Nice, via Copenhagen, in May. One reason we chose the carrier was for the Dreamliner service on the 10 hour flight to Europe and we decided, after adding on all the extra charges, to take the plunge and go for the Premium seats. The description on their website sealed the deal. https://www.norwegian.com/longdistancere...
I can't really say how bad 'Norwegian Air' was as we never flew them, except for the leg from Copenhagen to Nice. Instead of the Dreamliner, we ended up on a Portugese charter 777 run by Euro Atlantic Airways. I won't even go in to the problems with this aircraft, but after expecting (and paying for) the Dreamliner's on demand, touch screen inflight entertainment to help pass the long hours in the air, we got nothing.
I mean absolutely nothing as the antiquated system on this plane didn't work. When was the last time you had an ashtray in your armrest?
The food was inedible - even for airline food, which is saying a lot. The crew was on the verge of hostile and the seats were worn and uncomfortable. You couldn't even get a pillow!
On our return flight, we had the same experience (except the crew was a bit friendlier!) and heard horror stories from other passengers such as 6 hour delays and no help from Norwegian to arrange alternate connecting flights, lost luggage, etc.
I would never, ever, ever recommend this carrier. They are, IMHO, advertising an aircraft they don't have available, take your money even though they know they can't give you what you're paying for, and judging by our ongoing correspondence with their 'customer service' department, could care less.
Next time - Air France.
