The outbound flight to Amsterdam was disastrous. My husband and I were due to leave East Midlands Airport at 1pm. We finally left at 5.15pm, which meant we missed our connecting train and bus. We ended up having to hire a car. The return flight from Amsterdam was even worse. At check in, we were told the flight had been overbooked. Even though I had a confirmed seat, I was kicked off the flight, despite having arrived in plenty of time to check in. My husband, on the other hand was told he could fly. FlyBe said they would put me up in a hotel and fly me out the next day. However, they would not accommodate my husband. If he chose to stay over with me, he would have to pay for the hotel as well as another flight. Initially, I waited on standby and since I could not get on, I opted to fly out four hours later on a flight which took me to Birmingham. From there, I then had to take a cab to Nottingham, which is an hour or so away. Before leaving Schipol Airport, FlyBe had me fill out a form, which they said will be used to provide compensation. However, I will have to apply for compensation for the cost of the cab. If you are considering this airline, don’t. It was awful from beginning to end. Next time, I will fly KLM or take the Eurotrain
