Regarding the trip that started at CDG, because of the delay on the CDG-LHR flight, we just had time to go through security and to get to the boarding gate where a bus took us to the 777-300er.
5 minutes after take-off, there was heavy disturbance and a storm. I had never known the sound of flashes of lightning and it's pretty disturbing. Nevertheless, the pilot handled the moment very well and after 20 minutes, we got out of the storm area.
We had a meal after take-off, breakfast an hour before landing, and drinks offered at any time during the flight. Good food with a choice of "European" or "Japanese" dishes. Also of note, there were British and Japanese flight attendants.
There was excellent entertainment on board with individual screens: news, games, a flight map, films categorized by language (12 in French), music, 1 USB input jack, headphones, a blanket and a pillow... on the other hand, there were no plugs or masks.
At landing, very fast passage through customs and very quick baggage retrieval with British Airways' Tokyo staff close to us.
Only one downside: the seat was a little hard for an 11 hour flight, otherwise nothing to report. Well done British Airways!
