Check in at CDG in the junction hall between 2A and 2C. No queue but a professional welcome at the Club Europe desk. There is no official priority access fot the security control when flying economy but the airport employees recognized my OneWorld Emerald card and helped me for a quicker process.
The main advantage in choosing British Airways for a flight from CDG to London is that the OneWorld frequent flyer card allows accessing the American and Cathay lounges. I personnaly prefer Cathay Pacific, with its excellent hot and cold meal buffet including live-made pasta mixes.Tonight, I decided to eat beef and mushrooms, cheese and chocolate mousse. But chinese food is also a good option.
Boarding at gate A45. There is a fast track for frequent flyers and a boarding process by row numbers.. As the flight was full tonight, the crew has been using yellow tags requesting to put one luggage under the seat, for those who bring two bags. This is a quite diplomatic and efficient way to restrict/optimize the use of overhead coffers.
On board, the seats are new and quite comfortable, while the lighting system uses differents intensity levels and colors (blue for take off and landing). I've been sitting on an exit row. I had the opportunity to select this as the Emerald members can chose their seat when purchasing the ticket. Other passengers have to pay an extra fee or have to wait for the checkin process.
There are overhead screens (with flight map). The security annoucement video (cartoon) is now updated to reflect the rules about electronic devices using flight mode (now accepted). Service is quite usual : one complementary snack (backet with 3 possibilities) with one drink.I usually prefer a broader offer even if it is not for free. But Paris-London is a short short flight: I do not think that such an offer would be feasible.
Landing with 10 min delay at Heathrow Terminal 5. As usual I got the 3 SMS questions from BA (one of them with open answer) to evaluate the flight. I gave 4 stars.
This is a short flight but Bristish Airxays takes this as an opportunity to illustrate the British Quality, with a professional team, fluent processes and some generous advantages as well as more flexibility for frequent flyers with a status. Flights with BA on this line are usually a bit more expensive (10£) than with the competitors (Air France, easyjet) but it worths it.
