A short flight with no problems

This flight went by without a single problem: no jolts or turbulence, and a crew that was always polite and professional. Of course, the onboard service was rather limited: beverages and food that cost extra and the distribution of brochures for duty-free shopping. The seats were pretty comfortable as long as you weren't too large or too tall.

In contrast to the departure flight, where leaving Kuala Lumpur was an obstacle course, the return flight was uneventful. The Siem Reap airport was pleasant. It was very small, well organized and well laid out. It seemed a little like a "family" airport next to the disorganized factory that was Kuala Lumpur's low-cost airport.

Chaotic boarding, incident-free flight

The flight itself went well: no turbulence, no problems.

Minimal onboard service: minimum price, minimum service (no beverage, no snack unless you paid). I have Nothing to say regarding the price.

The place where I am most critical is the huge mess at the boarding. No clear information, and the staff was nowhere to be found. There were vague directions about the boarding gates. I understood the vagueness around these doors. The gate number meant nothing since all of the passengers on all of the flights found themselves confused trying to find the right plane (if possible) in the building. To find the right flight you had to pass in front of hangars with vehicles that were returning and leaving without protected crossings. It was very easy to pick the wrong plane or another flight in cases of less careful surveillance. As for security, this is the first time that I've seen this much improvisation. Even the bus stations in small Peruvian towns more organized.

They are predicting the construction of a new Low-Cost KLIA2 airport: I hope that the security will not be equally low cost.

A good low-cost airline

This is a very good low-cost airline. I've never had any delays with them. There is no in-flight entertainment and the meals cost extra but for flights that are less than 3 hours you can do without that.
The reception is always good and they handle the luggage well.
No complaints.

The best of all the low-cost airlines

Check-in was done only on the Internet. The rules were strict. There were no allowances made when it came to luggage or anything else. That's true...

Basic and punctual

No complaints about this flight. The services provided were basic (it's the equivalent of Easyjet), but the price beats all of the competition. Departure and arrival were on time, NTR about the luggage. Flight crew was reasonably friendly.

An excellent low-cost airline

Airbus A320.

New plane.
The prices beat all of the competition.
Everything seemed completely safe.
The flight crew was efficient and very friendly.
All stages of the flight went well.
There was no real entertainment, but the flight was pretty short.
There were no meals unless you paid for things like microwaved pizza or sandwiches.
Irreproachable punctuality.
The plane was extremely clean.

A very good grade for this Malaysia-based airline.

Cheap and satisfactory – Tokyo - Kuala Lumpur

Air Asia is not an airline.

It is a group of independent airlines operating together.

This is why it's possible for one Air Asia to be very different from the next.
Regular customers know this and have a preference for one Air Asia over another. Additionally, the prices for flights on the same route at exactly the same time of day are different.

In contrast to other airlines, Air Asia has several different flight codes. This how you can tell what the nationality of a flight is.

Having flown on numerous flights, my experience of them has been positive.
They don't quite keep to the schedules to the same extent as a "normal" airline, but they don't lose baggage to any greater extent. The level of comfort is spartan, but tolerable on short-haul flights. There are no screens, and the food, which is just average, has to be paid for. The cabin crew are courteous, and prices are usually attractive, though not always.

Definitely one to consider when choosing your flight.
