Suvarnabhumi Airport was the destination we arrived at having flown from Lyon via Dubai, which meant we had to change airport, because Air Asia operates its flights from Don Muang Airport (Bangkok's other airport). This isn't difficult to do, however, as there are several ways to get there: metro, tax, shuttle bus, etc.
We chose to take a taxi, which took 45 minutes and cost 400 baht (around £7.50). It was very quick to check-in once we arrived as there were five desks open for this 120-passenger flight.
The flight left on time and the plane we flew on was a modern and very quiet A320 equipped with clean, very high quality leather seats. We were offered magazines in Thai and English along with a hug, and duty free items were available from the cabin crew, whose smiles and kindness were beyond compare.
A perfect landing, a semi-telescopic gangway and a blazing sun awaited us in Phuket.
