What a disappointment!

Note: This review is about an experience that happened more than 3 years ago.

I purchased a stay at a holiday club in the Dominican Republic on the internet.
I was particularly, and very pleasantly, surprised to find myself aboard a flight with France's national airline and not on a charter flight as I'd expected.
I had a very high opinion of Air France, after numerous long-haul flights.

What a series of disappointments:

- Check-in over the internet 30 hours before departure: virtually all the places were already reserved! And for the return it was impossible to access the appropriate tab! And that despite a relaunch via email!

- Cabin crew: I'd formed an image of the cabin crew being beyond reproach, both in behaviour and in dress equally. And here again, what a disappointment! An ageing cabin crew, thus jaded, aloof, living on reputation, no class left! It tarnishes France's image, especially when you know that because of the hub there are numerous Italians, Germans, Dutch, etc., on board.

- Service: the meal was worse (I choose my words carefully) than on a charter flight, and that was equally the case for both the outbound and return journeys! French gastronomy: no. Low-cost airline gastronomy: yes! That's unless you pay a supplement, of course... The wine is included, yes, but in view of the ticket price I'd rather travel with another airline and pay for the wine. That would be more cost-effective, and my meal... would be more edible.

- The sale of duty-free goods: too tiring for the cabin crew, who are not commercially minded at all! They prefer to hide themselves away!
