This was a flight on an AF483 in the premium economy section. The seat was good when in the seated position but very hard to sleep on, and it would only recline a little because of the shell around it, which was very bad. The extra comfort isn't in proportion to the price difference even if the space is there, both length and width-wise. The slightly better menu and the in-flight comfort kit don't justify such a ticket price.
The flight itself was pleasant and the crew very nice, from the captain who came through to see the passengers to the hostesses who were present throughout the flight, which isn't always the case with Air France. The food was simple but of good quality. Departed behind schedule but arrived on time. The plane, a 777-200, was quite old: its registration, F-gspi, means it was one of the first delivered to AF. Nevertheless the cabin was clean and equipment and fixtures in good condition.
The main negatives were the service on the ground, provided by KLM staff, who caused us to be delayed (check-in opened 45 minutes late, boarding was laborious, there was discourtesy, etc.) and the quality of the snacks served during the flight, with only biscuits available.
The things that were good: the impeccable service and the smiling crew as well as the punctuality; the not good things: the service on the ground and the snacks served during the flight.
