The good, the bad and the ugly

Review of DMC about the flight Air France 077 between Los Angeles and Paris Charles De Gaulle on 01/11/2013 in Economy
Note: This review is about an experience that happened more than 3 years ago.

The 'economy' seating of this airplane was very cramped and I would not repeat the experience. The seats are not designed to recline more than a few inches and if you have any back issues, don't count on this slight angle to deliver any relief for your back. I also want to mention that the seats were very hard and uncomfortable for a long flight. If we were talking about a 3 to 5 hour flight I wouldn't mention it, but on a 9 to 11 hour flight it makes a difference. The leg room was adequate and the service of the flight attendants was good. The food was a hit or miss story and needs better consideration. I would prefer 3 small meals rather than 2 large meals. I know that would mean more work for the attendants, but it would be easier not to have to balance so much food and drink in a small space when you're tired or sleepy. Also, 3 small meals might reenergize the passengers a bit. Think fresh fruit and nuts, etc...

The online check-in process was very easy and I really appreciated printing my boarding passes to avoid long lines. At both airports in Los Angeles and Paris, the Air France employees were very helpful and made boarding effortless. If I were grading this airline, I would rate the service aspect an 'A'. However, I would rate the food a 'C' and the comfort level a 'D'.
